My Experience

With more than 30 years of experience in IT, I currently work as ICT Desktop Support Team Lead for the Isle of Wight Council. I lead a team responsible for resolving technical issues, managing service requests and supporting users across the organisation. Before being appointed permanently to the role in July 2023, I served as Acting Team Lead from December 2022 while continuing my responsibilities as a Senior ICT Desktop Support Officer. This experience has allowed me to combine hands-on technical knowledge with a focus on team development, service quality and continuous improvement.

My career has included a variety of technical and leadership roles across education, local government and the private sector. Previous positions include Network Manager at Nine Acres Primary School and MIS Technical Consultant at Capita Education, where I gained valuable experience supporting networks, systems and data management. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also worked within the tourism sector, helping to implement technology solutions that supported safer travel practices.

I started my IT career in the 1990s, working with SIMS and school data systems, which gave me a strong foundation in data management and technical support. Throughout my career, I have remained focused on finding practical solutions, adapting to changing technologies and delivering reliable IT services that make a positive difference for users and organisations alike.
